How to Make Humitas - Step by Step

  1. Pre-heat a pan with olive oil and add the green onions and garlic. Cook for fuve minutes.

  2. Blend the corn kernels, milk, the cooked onions and garlic, salt, and pepper in a blender until you get a smooth mixture.

  3. Then mix the corn with the grated cheese.

  4. Lay out a soaked corn husk with the narrow end facing you. Spoon about 1/4 cup of the mixture onto the center of the husk.

  5. Fold the left and right sides of the husk over the filling, then fold the bottom of the husk up over the filling, and secure with a piece of kitchen twine.Repeat until all of the mixture is used up.

  6. Place the Humitas in a steamer and steam for 20-30 minutes. Remove from the steamer and serve hot.Enjoy!
