How to Make Majarete - Step by Step

  1. In a large saucepan, mix the milk, cinnamon stick, grate the nutmeg mix and cook in medium heat.

  2. In a blender add the corn, milk, cornstarch, sugar and mix until well combine. Then add the coconut milk and mix again.

  3. The mixture that has been blended goes through a strainer into the saucepan with the milk, cinnamon and nutmeg.

  4. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until it starts to thicken. This should take around 10-15 minutes.

  5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish or individual molds and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for one hours or until the majarete is set.

  6. To serve, sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top of the majarete and enjoy!
